Why worship Jehovah...?
... because His guidance lasts longer than this life
Who Listens to the Almighty?
“...we should become hearers of the word...”

A glance at the scriptures shows the depth of prophets through Whom God sent His messages: Hoshea, Amos, Isaiah, … yet the Almighty spoke even more profoundly without them.

A second glance at the events in the scriptures – many of which seem quite ordinary and nonchalantly included by the writers – speak louder than words, and subtly foretell events far into the future. People, places, even absolute timings of prominent future events are all there – all written into the very history of God’s people.

Yet… do we value them at-all? Are they merely of academic value - or worse, of fleeting interest?

There is a reason why there were so few prophets: Mankind did not want to learn. Rather than aspire to be teachers, we should be hearers willing to be taught. We live a few short years – the rush makes us strive for prominence - but the Almighty is and was and always will be. Shouldn’t we simply listen when He speaks to us?

Shortly there will be the commemoration of Nisan 14th – the day of the slaughtering of the lamb – beginning after sundown on Sunday, 9th of April. It follows the prophetic pattern set at the first Passover – that seemingly superfluous ceremony as protection from the last plague, when no such ceremony was needed concerning the previous nine….

There was a reason for setting that event prominently in history, and those who listen benefit from it. Likewise, the Almighty has spoken very simply about the return of the Messiah – far in advance of that first Passover – because it pertains to a greater issue. The Almighty spoke to us, for our benefit, to guide us and to take away the fear of those who will simply give credence...

Dare we ignore Him?

Our worship and our assurance of the future begin with listening…
